Frequently Asked Questions About Using Wyoming ESA for Math Tutoring

Can I use my ESA funds for online tutoring? Yes! Tutoring is specifically listed as an eligible expense under Wyoming's ESA program. Online tutoring qualifies just like in-person tutoring.

How do I pay with my Wyoming ESA funds? After we schedule your child's tutoring, payments are managed through the Wyoming ESA portal.

Do I need pre-approval for tutoring services? No! As an approved ESP, tutoring services are pre-approved as eligible expenses. You simply schedule and pay through the ESA portal.

Can I use ESA funds if I'm homeschooling in Wyoming? Absolutely! Many Wyoming ESA families are homeschoolers who use tutoring to supplement their math curriculum or provide expert instruction in specific areas.

What if my child is using multiple ESA services? Many families split their ESA funds between private school tuition, curriculum purchases, and tutoring. You can purchase whatever tutoring package size fits your ESA budget and educational goals.

Can ESA funds cover tutoring for multiple children? Yes! If you have multiple children with ESAs, each child's funds can be used for their individual tutoring needs.

What grades and math topics do you cover? I work with Wyoming ESA students in Kindergarten through 8th grade, plus Algebra 1. Topics include number sense, operations, fractions, decimals, ratios, pre-algebra, and more.

How does online tutoring work for ESA students? We meet via Zoom for interactive, engaging sessions. Students can control the screen, use digital math tools, and work through problems collaboratively with me. Most ESA families find online tutoring even more effective than in-person because of the digital tools available.

Can you work with my child's specific math curriculum? Yes! Whether you're using Saxon, Singapore Math, Math Mammoth, or another curriculum, I adapt to what you've chosen rather than imposing a preset program.

Are there restrictions on who can provide tutoring? Wyoming law states that tutoring cannot be provided by an ESA student's immediate family members (parents, step-parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings). As an independent education provider, I qualify as an approved tutor.

About Hoffman Tutoring Group

I'm Zoie Hoffman, a math educator with over a decade of experience helping K-8 students build math confidence and understanding. I hold a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a Graduate Certificate in Mathematical Thinking for Instruction from Boise State University.
As someone who struggled with math anxiety growing up, I understand the challenges many ESA students face when traditional school settings haven't worked for them. My approach focuses on conceptual understanding rather than rote memorization, helping students develop genuine mathematical thinking skills.

I specialize in working with homeschool families, gifted students, kids in need of math intervention, and children who need a different approach to math education. Many of my clients come to me after trying other tutoring options without success.
